Parking woes for
condo residents
The Malay Mail 25/2/2005 By Halim Saad
Petaling Jaya: It is a daily 'fight' for parking for residents of D'Aman
Ria and D'Aman Crimson Condominiums.
The shortage of parking space at the condominium in PJU 1A/41 Jalan Subang
Lama has created some tension between the residents occasionally.
Residents attributed the problem to space shortage and high
rental.
This has led to parking on the road shoulders near the condominiums and
narrowing the road, making it at times difficult for two cars to pass.
A resident, K. Kumar, 40, said many residents will park
on the road shoulders as rental is high in the condominium.
"It's between RM25 and RM50 per month for the open area
and RM150 per month for the underground parking bay," he said.
Johari Mustafa, 28, said he did not mind paying but
there was just no space. "I only park inside when it is midnight as there
are fewer cars during that time," he said.
Chong Kwang Hung, 30, who has two cars, has to park one
of his cars outside because the management only provided one parking lot
to each unit.
"There is a lot of risk parking outside the premises.
There is a danger that the car could get stolen or damaged," he said.
The Malay Mail went to Jalan PJU 1A/41 yesterday at 6pm
and saw two lines of cars parked against the road shoulder.
There were also summonses from the Petaling Jaya
Municipal Council (MPPJ) on some of the cars parked there.
