woes at Puchong flats

RESIDENTS of the Seri Damai
low- cost flats in Taman Saujana Puchong are looking forward to better
days following a dialogue with representatives of developer Expand Factor
Sdn Bhd and management company LT Sdn Bhd.
Grievances faced by residents are frequent water cuts,
badly-lit stairways, unlit car park area and inconsistent garbage
collection.
Puchong MP Lau Yeng Peng, who chaired the dialogue on
Tuesday, assured residents that their problems would be addressed soon.
“For starters, the developer has agreed to repair the
water pump so water flow is consistent, while LT will install the corridor
lights. The car park will also be lit from now,” he said, urging
representatives from both companies to play a proactive role.
The management company said it would set up an office at
the low-cost flats to attend to residents’ complaints. The office will be
manned by one staff member from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Other problems brought up by residents during the
session were leaking roofs, absence of telephone poles and shoddy
workmanship.
A resident who only identified himself as Jameon said
previous efforts to contact the developer were futile while the customer
service staff of the management company were rude and refused to entertain
residents’ complaints.
Lau said he would also speak to Subang Jaya Municipal
Council representatives for an extension of the temporary CF granted to
the 455-unit project.
Most Seri Damai residents bought their homes under the
squatter relocation programme and were from Kampung Michael Chen. |
