RESIDENTS of Bandar Botanic in Klang have been enjoying
peace of mind these days. Security in the neighbourhood has been boosted
with guard dogs and armed guards the last couple of weeks.
Developer Harum Intisari Sdn Bhd has decided on the move
after a spate of break-ins in the township of more than 4,000 homes. With
the Chinese New Year festivities, Harum Intisari isn't taking any chances.
Bestari Guard Force Security Sdn Bhd operations
executive Frank Tan, who is also Bandar Botanic security manager, said the
dogs helped to prevent crime in the neighbourhood.
“We have also brought in a number of armed personnel to
keep crime at bay,” he said, adding that they would be on their rounds
until the end of the month.
“After that, the township's management will decide on
the next course of action,'' said Tan. In addition to the guards and dogs, security booths and
gates have been put up at entrances and exits of the township.
“Ever since these have been done, the crime rate has
been brought down to zero,'' said Tan. “We want residents to enjoy a better life and not worry
about their properties when they return to their hometowns during the
festive period.''
