WHEN teacher Ramali Buyong bought a unit
at Eden Park in Pusing, near Batu Gajah, Perak, he thought it was his dream
house.
Ramali, 50, and his 48-year-old wife Aurul Aini Abdul Latif, from Ipoh,
were particularly attracted to the design of the house in the area now
called Taman Medan Pusing.
However, their excitement in moving into their RM130,000 dream house with
their four children was short-lived.
Ramali is now worried his house will collapse as cracks have been
appearing since he moved in six months ago.

“We cannot understand why certificates of fitness were issued as cracks
are appearing on the walls of the houses in the area,” said Ramali who is
also the residents’ action committee chairman.
Cracks have also appeared at the house porches and some of the pillars of
the front gates are slanted, he said after speaking to Perak MCA Public
Services and Complaints Bureau deputy chief Datuk Lee Kon Yin who said he
would discuss the matter with the developer.
Ramali said the housing estate had 172 double-storey terrace houses which
cost between RM106,000 and RM132,000 per unit.
Of the 172 units, 67 houses were affected, he said.
He added that the committee had tried to meet the authorities to
highlight their problems but failed.
He said the playground was badly maintained and it would flood after a
downpour.
A spokesman for the developer said that their engineers had already
started to look into the problem. |
