THE Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) is not satisfied with the Kantan
Court developer's explanation on shaky corridor railings and has asked the
company to submit another letter detailing the structural design
calculations, the reasons why the railings are shaky and suggested remedial
measures.
The developer, Khidmat Tulin Sdn Bhd, submitted a letter dated Sep 30 to the
council saying that some of the corridor railings are a little shaky and
this was caused by heavy objects hitting them when residents carried out
renovations.
The letter also stated that the developer was willing to strengthen the
railings by removing the cement screed cover, rectify the vertical member
base and defective welding, since the building was still under defect
liability period.
Sri Kembangan assemblyman Datuk Liew Yuen Keong showed reporters the letter,
as well as MPSJ's reply dated Oct 20, during a press conference at the flats
in Taman Bukit Serdang on Nov 13.
“Residents are dissatisfied with the minor welding and cement touch-ups,”
said Liew .
He requested that the developer and its management company, TBS Management
Sdn Bhd, attend an upcoming dialogue with residents, which will also be
attended by MPSJ officials.
Taman Bukit Serdang Kantan Court and Section Four Owners and Residents
Association chairman Chang Tham Fatt said the developer had not been
transparent in dealing with residents.
They had earlier agreed to attend a dialogue in the presence of Liew, but
not only did they fail to turn up, they even locked the room where the
dialogue was scheduled to take place.
He added that the company had not been able to produce a list stating its
management officers, as well as accounts detailing collection and
expenditure of maintenance fees.
“We really hope the developer can come forward and explain all these issues
to us,” he said. |
