SHAH ALAM: Selangor
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo is still waiting for
the apartment he booked 10 years ago.
The construction of the apartment in Salak Tinggi,
Sepang, which he booked when he was still practising as a dentist,
has not even started yet.
“I get very frustrated each time I visit the
project site as there is no sign of the project taking shape. The
developer was Sepang Utama,” he said, adding that the he bought the
unit for RM79,000.
He said the company has closed down because of
financial difficulties.
Not only that, Dr Khir said his elder sister had
also bought a unit based on his advice.
“She was angry with me after that. I hope those
who have been victims will take note that I feel their pain and
frustrations too,” he said after the exco meeting yesterday.
Dr Khir said the bitter experience made him look
into the housing needs of the people in the state.
“We are in the process of solving the squatter
problems in Selangor.
“I want every family to own a home and that’s why
the state has made the developers build adequate low-cost homes,” he
said. |
