End to power,
water woes at Saujana Puchong flats
NST 19/7/2004
OWNERS of low-cost apartments in Taman Saujana Puchong are grateful that
their water and electricity woes have been solved.
They were supposed to move into their new units by last
September but could not do so as the units did not have water and
electricity supplies.
"Water and electricity were connected last week and
owners can now take delivery of their keys and move in as soon as
possible," said Seputeh MP Teresa Kok's special assistant and DAP National
Consumer Bureau Affairs secretary Khong Chee Seng.
Khong said owners could pick up their unit keys at the
developer's office in Puchong.
He said while they were glad the problem was resolved,
there were other pending issues, among which, was the late delivery
penalty claims of residents.
"Some residents have almost nine to 10 months of claims
and we hope to discuss the problem with developer."
He said other minor problems were building defects and clogged drains.
Khong said Taman Saujana Puchong residents association
protem committee would like to request MPSJ and the developer to install
and improve street lighting in the housing area.
"We would like to have proper lighting throughout the
main road and we ask the bus operators to improve the bus services.
"We also plan to meet the police to request them to
increase patrols in the area," he said.
Khong said the RA protem committee had lodged an
official complaint with the Housing Ministry.
"We hope a meeting is arranged soon between the
Ministry, developers and the committee with regard to these problems," he
said. |
