SEREMBAN, April 7 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan
State Executive Council Wednesday issued a stop work order on all
development in the new township of Seremban Selatan for violating
the Certificate of Fitness (CF) for occupancy.
Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamad Hasan said contractors involved in the
project had also been dismissed, effective immediately, as "the
developers had implemented the project without presenting a building
plan."
A large number of houses, especially in the completed phases, were
already occupied despite not having received the CF, he said, adding
that the land belonged to the National Land Finance Cooperative
Society, which was a Government-owned cooperative.
He said the Nilai Municipal Council had been instructed to assess
the houses to ensure CF conditions were met, especially concerning
areas which had been found in violation, like drainage.
He said other areas, like Taman Chembong Jaya in Rembau, had also
not been given the CF and the State Government would take action
against developers who violated CF conditions.
Meanwhile, the Menteri Besar said he would meet some 90 principals
and 400 headmasters in the State after the conclusion of the
Malaysia Games (Sukma) in June to discuss disciplinary matters.
As for Sukma, Mohamad also instructed owners of business premises to
paint their buildings in the run-up to the biennial sporting event
which would be held in the State.
"This is an effort which will benefit premises owners as many
outsiders will come to the town and State for Sukma. This will
directly promote Seremban town and other districts among visitors,"
he said.
Mohamad said he had also instructed the Seremban Municipal Council
to beautify the town. |
