RESIDENTS of Intan
Mutiara, Taman Bukit Tinggi Two in Klang gathered at the office of
developer Labu Bina Sdn Bhd recently to voice their frustrations on
the lack of action following many complaints.
The residents said they had been patient and
decided to confront the developer when a kindergarten was allowed to
operate at a corner lot in spite of protests.
They also expressed dissatisfaction with the poor
security in the area, clogged drains, uncollected rubbish, parking
of heavy vehicles and foreign workers staying overnight at houses
that were being renovated.
Raymond Lim, a representative of the 50-odd
residents who met Labur Bina general manager Lai Yeng Fook, said the
kindergarten should not be allowed to operate as Clause 3.1(q) of
the Deed of Mutual Covenants states that purchasers are prohibited
from using their residences for business.
“We bought the property here because of the
various amenities promised but the problems we are facing indicate
otherwise,” said Lim.

Another resident, Aris Abdullah, questioned the
security in the area, as there had been two break-ins in the last
three months.
“We are paying RM85 a month just for security and
a central monitoring system so we expect our homes to be safe,” said
Aris.
Lai said Labur Bina had taken note of the
residents' objections on the kindergarten and would seek the
assistance of its legal advisers before taking any action.
“We have to take into consideration the legal
implications as the operator has obtained a licence from the Klang
Municipal Council and a permit from the state education department,”
he said.
Lai said it was not easy to resolve the problem,
as some of the residents had not voiced their objections when
approached by the council.
He said the committee had contracted another
security company recently after receiving complaints from the
residents.
He urged the residents to be patient and to expect
things to improve in a few weeks.
Lai also said a pro tem residents committee would
be set up on Wednesday and Labur Bina would work closely with the
committee to resolve their complaints.
