Bandar Pinggiran Subang project being revived 06/12/2004 Malay Mail
SHAH ALAM: Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) has been appointed
to
complete the Bandar Pinggiran Subang medium-cost housing project
that was
abandoned three years ago, chairman of the State housing, squatter
and
building management committee Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Ahmad Dahlan said
yesterday.
The Federal Government has agreed to allocate RM12 million to enable
the
construction of the remaining 600 units of houses, he told reporters
after
attending the signing of an agreement between SPNB and the buyers.
The previous contractor had abandoned the project after completing
80
per cent of construction, and many of the buyers had made payments
for the
units that cost between RM80,000 and RM90,000 each.
Mokhtar said that the number of abandoned housing projects in
Selangor
had dropped from 86 last year to 30 as at last month. - Bernama
