THE owners of the stalled Kuchai Square project in Kuchai Jaya, off Jalan Kuchai Lama, want an explanation as to why the project have been delayed for four years.
Most of them have paid up to 95 per cent of the purchase price while some are still servicing hefty bank loans.
C.H. Lee, who had bought two shop lots for over RM800,000, said he had thus far paid over 55 per cent of the purchase price.
“According to the sale and purchase agreement signed in 1997, the project was to be completed in three years, which should be by the year 2000. The project is no where near completion,” he said.
Property owners had sought help from City Hall Advisory Board Member Dr Sua Chong Keh hoping to get some answers.
Sua, who visited the property recently, said he would be writing to the Housing and Local Government Ministry soon.
When contacted Wingspan Management Services Sdn Bhd the developers of Kuchai Square explained that the project was delayed due to financial constraint.
Its director, M.K Yeong said the company was negotiating with another firm to take over the project.
