KUALA LUMPUR, Sun. - Buyers of the Estana Court Condominium, near Hulu Kelang, were left in the lurch after its developer failed
to deliver their homes.
Desperate to get their woes settled, the 180 buyers set up a committee known as the Estana Court
Condominium Buyers Committee.
A
spokesman for the committee, Ani Hashim, said the developer,
Kumpulan Promista Development, was supposed to deliver the
condominium in 1998.
However,
the buyers, she said were left in the lurch when the company landed
in financial difficulties.
She said
the developer had met with the Housing and Local Government Ministry
and promised to apply for certificate of fitness for the buildings.
"The
committee, however, doubts the developer's ability to do anything
now as its business has been wound up."
Ani also
said a letter had been sent to Bank Negara requesting interest
levied on buyers who took housing loans be waived after consulting
the National House Buyers Association.
The
committee is appealing to other affected buyers to come forward and
support its efforts.
It hopes
the authorities would help end their predicament. |
