Kuala Lumpur: The Housebuyers Claims Tribunal will sit to hear cases that have been postponed, starting in February, Housing and Local Government Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said yesterday.
He said this was in line with the Appeals Court decision on Dec 16 that the tribunal had the authority to decide cases relating to sale and purchase agreements signed before Dec 1, 2002.
"The dates of the new hearings will be decided in early February to fulfill the notification order of 14 days before the hearing to both parties," he said after visiting the tribunal's office.
The tribunal postponed the cases being heard after a High Court decided on Sept 4 that it did not have the authority to hear cases involving agreements signed before Dec 1, 2002.
Ong was confident that most of the cases would be solved within two months after filing as five more people had been appointed as members of the tribunal. - Bernama |
