MPAJ to adopt new
procedures in CF applications

KUALA LUMPUR, Sat. - The Ampang Jaya Municipal
Council will, on Dec 1, be the first local council in the country to
adopt the new procedures in issuing certificates of fitness (CF).
Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri
Ong Ka Ting said under the new procedures, local councils will have
to issue the, CF within 14 days after all documents are submitted.
"Under the system, the council president will have
to set up a one-stop centre for CF approval," said Ong.
"Once the necessary documents are submitted, it
would only take 14 days for the CF to be issued.
The new system, Qng said, would not compromise, on
the fitness of buildings.
The departments that will be removed from the CF
process are Telekom, Tenaga Nasional, Waterworks, Public Works,
Drainage and Irrigation, and Fire and Rescue Services. |
