Law makes fools of buyers

Scrap the
Housing Tribunal! It is a waste of time and gives false hopes to house
buyers. The Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) clearly spells out that
non-delivery on the stipulated date means a penalty for the developer. Why
can't the Housing and Local Government Ministry enforce the law?
Why must it help
the developer by setting up the Housing Tribunal, then limiting the cases
to agreements signed from Dec 1, 2002? The SPA is sufficient. Why bring in
the tribunal and complicate a straightforward matter?
I see the
ministry as a toothless tiger. It has no bite. It can only talk. Enforce
the laws! Otherwise why have laws? To help the developer or the buyer?
Why have laws
when the will to enforce them is not there? We might as well have no laws
and let the law of the jungle operate if laws are not going to be
enforced.
So it is
surprising that aggrieved people should take the law into their own hands?
A time may come when people will not follow the law; because they being
made fools of!
