House buyers like guardian less
orphans

WITH the large number of problems facing unlucky house buyers appearing in
the media, and the attitude of the Ministry of Housing and Local
Government concerning the unresolved issues, I am tempted to question if
the ministry concerned is the proper channel for raising these problems.
The act governing the housing development industry was
amended, and took effect at the end of last year.
Purportedly it was enacted to give house buyers more
protection as assured by the minister.
One observation is that the ministry seems impotent to
act and seems to be toothless while the complaints are pouring in from
maligned house buyers.
One also wonders how developers can act so arrogantly
and with impunity.
They do not seem to be concerned that they may be
prosecuted for all the wrongs committed by them.
And it is also difficult to understand why the ministry
is slow in acting against the grouses so far raised by victimized house
buyers.
I think someone should provide the answers to the
questions so far raised but none seems to be forthcoming.
It now seems that house buyers with problems with
developers may have to cry over this with no hope of ever seeing any
solution in sight. Where is justice and fairness that the rakyat are
pining for? |
