Still no CF for 100 property owners in JB

Johor Baru: The Johor Baru MCA has asked
the state government to look into the plight of some 100 buyers of the
Mount Austin project near here, who are still waiting for certificates of
fitness (CF) for the homes an shops they bought in 1996.
Divisional secretary Wee Ka Siong urged
the state government and the Local and Housing Ministry to, at least issue
temporary CFs for the properties.
"The buyers have been paying their
instalments for over a year for properties they cannot occupy.
"Some have to pay both the instalment
and rent on the house they are staying. This is unfair," he said.
Hawker Lim Kim Choo, 57, said she bought
a premise for RM400,000 in 1996 and paid RM5,000 each month in instalment
payments.
"How long must I wait? I have settled
all payments and yet can't occupy my property," she said at a press
conference organised by the Johor Baru MCA.
She said it was pointless to collect
keys if the CF had not been issued.
