KUALA LUMPUR: More than 50 families are still waiting for their houses in Taman Permai, Ampang, although the project was to have been completed four years ago.
Mohd Noh Nasira, secretary of the Taman Permai Jaya pro tem committee, said they had bought the houses in 1995 and delivery was due in 1997.
"The houses are only 80% complete now,'' he said in an interview at the Housebuyers Association headquarters yesterday.
"When we contacted the developer, they said they were trying to get power supply connected to the houses,'' he said.
Nasira said that most of the buyers were government servants and had to service their loans while at the same time pay rental.
Housebuyers Association chairman Datuk Zainuddin Bachik said the association would investigate and take necessary actions.
In another case, the Taman Naga Emas Residents Association in Salak South representing 230 families from low and medium-cost apartments have been fighting for their certificate of fitness (CF) for the past 10 years.
Association chairman Kaw Sai Cheong said that the residents have been left in the lurch as the developer went bust last year.
On this matter, Zainuddin said if the developer had applied for the CF 10 years ago, these problems would not have arisen.
He said housebuyers facing problems can refer their plight to the association's headquarters at No.31, Level 3, Jalan Barat, Off Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur or call 03-21422225/03-22601803 . |
